Grew up in Shooter's Hill on the East Side of London. She had an older brother who was killed by a virus being one of the students at an elementary school that was plagued by the virus secretly created at Larkhill prison. Due to their son's death, Evey's parents become political activits and particapte in many anti-government protests. Becuase they were so involved with protests they were taken away by Fingermen (the new government's police) and taken to Belmarsh prison. Her mother starves to death during a hunger strike and her father is shot to death by guards during an attempted assult in the prison. Now an orphen, Evey is sent to a reclamation camp to be "re-educated" and put back into 'normal' society.
When Evey is 19 she begins working at the news station. She could tell when they were lying to the public claiming the stories were 'news' to keep the people in order.
One night Dietrich asked her to go over to his home for dinner. On the way there she is stopped by some Fingermen. They threaten to rape her. Luckily a man, masked in a Guy Fawkes mask, known only as V, saves her life and takes her with him to blow up the Old Bailey. She is astonished by what she sees and returns home at once.
The next day the news station is taken over by V and he sends out a message to the rest of England to meet him in front of Parliment one year from that day to take over and bring back the government to represent the people. When V was trying to leave the station he was going to be taken by a Fingerman but Evey saved him by spraying the Fingerman with pepper spray. Unfortunetly she got hit in the head and knocked unconcious.
V didn't think it'd be right to leave her there and decided to take her with him to his underground home, the Shadow Gallery. However he decided to hold her captive, too afraid that she might reveal his secrets to the world. While holding her captive he started to kill off government people.
Evey didn't like being afraid all of the time and expressed her wish to help in V's cause. During one mission V allowed her to help him and she used it to her advantage to escape to Dietrich's house. He held her there and protected her. He revealed his homosexuality to her as well as other priceless items in his home. That night his show was rewritten and he poked fun at the High Chancellor. That night he was taken away by one of the Fingermen.
As Evey attempted to escape she was captured. They shaved her h air and held her in prison, constantly interrogated her until she was willing to reveal V's secrets. When in prison she recieved a letter that turned out to be a woman's autobiography. Through this story and her time held captive she learned to be strong and not fear things as easily. However when she claimed to be ready for death it turned out that V was the person who was holding her captive. He let her go after it.
Finally V's plan was put together. On the eve of his revolution Evey visited him one more time. She danced with him and waited for his return from facing the Chanceller. He was shot badly and died in her arms. She granted his last wish and gave him a viking funeral by placing him inside an old tube with bombs and set it off down the station to blow up parliment.
V left everything he had to Evey and she continues his legacy.
